Looking for some studio posing ideas for an athletic photo shoot? You’re in the right place!
For this session we used two 53-inch seamless backdrops in my small studio space. The olive green offered a darker and moodier look, while the neutral gray was fresh and airy.
Studio Posing Ideas For Athletic Photo Shoot
Because of the nature of this session (and being inside a small space), posing was vital! We needed to find ways to showcase Maia and her amazing personality by including movement and dimension. I showed up for the session with posing ideas in hand. I made a mood board, comprised of various athletic photo ideas that I found on good ol’ Pinterest! Then, we made the poses our own.
In order to do this, we utilized hand movement as much as we could. This really made the photos come alive! I always tell my clients that it can feel a little awkward to use your hands so much, but just trust the process! It’s always better than just crossing your arms or putting your hands on your hips for all your photos! Adding some variation to your athletic poses creates a beautiful, full gallery of photos when it’s all said and done.
