When my good friend Jenna reached out for a last-minute photo session, I knew we were in for something so special. They wanted to capture memories with their ever-growing-up kiddos, and I had the perfect plan: a golden hour family photo session at a little gem of a location I love in Williamsburg, Virginia. Honestly this impromptu shoot turned into an unforgettable experience with absolutely gorgeous photos!

Our secret gem of a spot in Williamsburg is a true hidden treasure. Nestled between lush greenery and the serene expanse of a nearby beach, it offered a picturesque blend of both worlds. As the sun began its descent, we were treated to the best of both landscapes during this golden hour family photo session in Williamsburg. Vibrant, sunlit foliage and a tranquil shoreline bathed in golden light set the stage for stunning photographs.

While the sun was still sitting up higher we started  where the late afternoon light filtered through the trees. This creatied a soft, enchanting backdrop. Since I’ve worked with this famil before, they were instantly at ease and we were able to just have the best time togehter! Capturing their smiles and personalities during this golden hour family photo session was pure magic.

As the sun continued to lower, we transitioned to the beach. The change in scenery was stunning; the golden hour light turned the water into a shimmering expanse of gold and the sky into a canvas of pastel hues. I loved capturing their adorable interactions and so much warmth and love!

The combination of greenery and beach scenes, paired with the golden hour’s unique light, created a collection of photographs that were nothing short of breathtaking. As the session concluded and the sun finally dipped below the horizon, I couldn’t help but feel aso grateful, not only that I get to know this family but that I get to be their photographer. Sometimes, the most spontaneous plans turn into the most beautiful memories.
