When Christi McGuire contacted me for family photos on the beach in Sarasota Florida, I immediately knew of the perfect spot! I live in Williamsburg Virginia but our family frequents our “home away from home” for vacation or even just a quick getaway. So in the middle of July we braved the heat and headed to the beach for some updated family photos!

We watched the radar do somersaults all day long, threatening terrible rain and storms. But at some point Christi said, “Welp! We’re all ready, let’s just give it a try!” And that’s exactly what we did!

The Beach & The Beautiful Greenery

What I loved about this beautiful location on Anna Maria Island is that we were able to get some gorgeous shots under the green archway with large leaves and a tropical feel while the rain was sprinkling down. When the rain cleared up we headed out to the open beach and, well.. just look at these show-stopping shots! I am just in love with these Sarasota Florida beach photos!

Another Special Element To This Beautiful Family Session

This session was extra special is the fact that Christi is actually my very first book editor! She was the first person to ever read the manuscript of the book I released a couple of years ago. If not for her, I never would have landed an awesome book deal with a phenomenal publisher and checked “writing a book” off the list of things I want to do one day!

High School Senior Headed Off To College

One more thing that was so sweet about this session is that Christi’s oldest daughter is headed off to college in just a few days! What a beautiful way to capture this milestone by getting updated family photos!
